  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp water

For the Frosting

  • 1 tbsp blueberry filling (from above)
  • 110 g cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 3 tbsp icing sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 30 g whipping cream

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the lukewarm milk with melted butter and add the egg and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 to 2 hours or until doubled in size.

Step 2: Make the Blueberry Filling

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine blueberries, sugar, salt, cinnamon, flour, and water.
  2. Cook until the mixture starts to bubble and thicken slightly (about 5 minutes). Remove from heat and let it cool completely.

Step 3: Assemble the Rolls

  1. Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 12×18 inches.
  2. Spread softened butter over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  3. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the buttered surface.
  4. Spread the cooled blueberry filling evenly over the cinnamon mixture.
  5. Starting from one end, tightly roll up the dough into a log shape.
  6. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces using dental floss or a sharp knife.

Step 4: Second Rise and Baking

  1. Place the rolls cut-side up in a greased baking dish. Cover and let them rise for another 30 to 45 minutes until they touch each other.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Step 5: Prepare the Frosting

  1. In a bowl, beat together cream cheese, icing sugar, blueberry filling, vanilla extract, and whipping cream until smooth.
  2. Once rolls are out of the oven and slightly cooled, drizzle or spread frosting on top.
